It is prohibited to import plants and plant products to Sri Lanka without prior approval of the National Plant Quarantine Service (NPQS).
Any passenger carrying fresh plants, plant products, or any plant item that is directly related to crop production in Sri Lanka should declare it to the customs officer at the arrival terminal and refer the items to the Plant Quarantine Officer at the Arrival Terminal of Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport.
