AIM collects, process, edit, publish and distribute Aeronautical data and Information essential for air navigation safety, regularity and efficiency.

As the authoritative source for Sri Lanka aeronautical information, AIM Office provides quality-assured and tailored data and information to Air Traffic Management (ATM) and airspace users 24 hours a day. In addition to data and information, AIM services also provide a centralized ATS Reporting Office (ARO) and an expert help desk for supporting pilots. AIM services are also home to the International NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) Office for Sri Lanka. AIM Sri Lanka publishes the Aeronautical Information Package in accordance with ICAO standards of Annex 15 and established an International NOTAM office. The objective of aeronautical information service is to ensure the dissemination of information necessary for the safety, regularity and efficiency of international and national air navigation within the “Colombo” FIR. All information is based, conducted, published and distributed in the form of Aeronautical Information Product. AIS of Sri Lanka consists of five interrelated departments:
