AASL Continues Investing in Infrastructural Facilities at BIA.

Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited (AASL) is happy to announce that a project worth Rs. 852 million to upgrade the departure baggage makeup facility has been awarded to one of the leading professional and ISO-certified baggage service providers in Sri Lanka, MSN Engineering (Pvt) Limited. The project is implemented in line with the company's program to enhance the infrastructural facilities at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) continuously to facilitate the growing passenger volume at its main gateway. 

Eng. Athula Galketiya, Chairman AASL stated: “This project will enhance the departure baggage handling capacity at BIA by around 45% and this includes refurbishment, extension of departure baggage make-up carousel and associated civil works at Bandaranaike International Airport, Katunayake”.

The project is scheduled to be completed within 09 months. With this update, BIA will be able to handle departing passengers more effectively and efficiently, which will make passengers more comfortable to have a happy journey.

The agreement was signed on 26 April 2024 at BIA and Eng. Athula Galketiya, Chairman AASL, Ms. Awanthi Senaratne, Vice Chairperson-AASL, Eng. Asitha Karunaratne, Head of Projects, AASL, and senior officials of AASL attended the signing of the agreement. Further, representing MSN Engineering (Pvt) Limited, the directors Mr. Kanthalingam Shivaskaran, Mr. Nalin Bandara, Mr. Menaka Aberathna, and other officers participated in the event.
