Austrian Airlines Inaugurates Flights to Sri Lanka

Austrian Airlines resumed operations between Austria and Colombo on 28th October 2015 after a lapse of eight years. With a warm welcome of a ceremonial water salute an aircraft of B767 - 300 ER with 265 passengers on board from Vienna landed at the Bandaranaike International Airport.
The frequency of flights between Vienna and Colombo will be one per week following bilateral talks between Civil Aviation authorities of both Countries. This will be a major boost for Sri Lanka s tourism industry as most Austrian tourists prefer to spend their holidays in Sri Lanka.
