IndiGo Airline Commences Flights to JIA

JIA is happy to welcome IndiGo with daily flights from Chennai to Jaffna.

The inaugural flight from Chennai to Jaffna arrived today at 3.05 p.m with 52 passengers and departed with 75 passengers. The aircraft was welcomed with a celebratory water cannon salute upon arrival at JIA and the passengers were warmly welcomed with traditional dance performances and special gift packs sponsored by Sri Lanka Tea Board and Department of Industries Northern Province.

Mr. K D S Ruwanchandra, Secretary to the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Aviation, Mr. Sai Murali, Consul General of India, Mr. M. Piratheepan, District Secretary Jaffna District Secretariat, Eng. Athula Galketiya, Chairman of Airport & Aviation Services Sri Lanka Private, Ms. Awanthi Senarathna, Vice Chairman of Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited, Mr. Vishesh Khanna, Vice President Sales IndiGo, Ms Dushy Jayaweera, Managing Director of Acorn Aviation were presented the event.
