CONSTRUCTION OF ACCESS ROADS TO THE AIRPORT HAS NOW BEGUN

The Second International Airport at Hambantota is a pledge given in the Mahinda Chinthana Extended Version. This dream is now becoming a reality. At the same time the rebuilding of 13 domestic airports within the country has commenced. All these activities come under the mega development programme. It is being built as an environment-friendly Airport. The launch of construction of the access road to the Airport took place on 3/3/2011.
The Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa, Minister of Civil Aviation Priyankara Jayaratne , Ministry Secretary Mr. K.V.P.R. Silva and Chairman of the Airport and Aviation Services Mr. Prasanna Wickremasuriya were present.
