A ceremony to officially launch the electronic version of (CD-ROM) Sri Lanka Aeronautical Information Publication (eAIP) was held on 17th October 2011 at the CIP lounge of the Bandaranaike International Airport, Katunayake under the patronage of Mr. Prasanna Wickramasuriya - The Chairman, Airport & Aviation Services (S.L) Ltd.

This ceremony was organized by the Aeronautical Information Services of the Airport & Aviation Services (S.L) Ltd. The launch of the eAIP was inaugurated by Mr. Prasanna Wickramasuriya, Chairman / AASL, presenting the first eAIP CD to the chief guest Mr. H.M.C Nimalsiri - Director General and CEO of Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka

Mr. Kamal Ratwatta -Vice Chairman/AASL, Mr. Johanne Jayaratne -Executive Director/AASL and Mr. Ananda Goonatilaka-Director/AASL and the Heads of the divisions of AASL also participated in the event. in addition, Senior officials from various government organizations such as Civil Aviation Authority, Department Of Meteorology, Department of Immigration & Emigration, S.L Navy etc and senior officials from the airlines operated at BIAC also participated.
