For the 3rd consecutive year, all shop operators at BIA together with AASL organized a grand Christmas Shopping Festival 2012/ 2013 to inspire passengers to do shopping in the airport premises. This is mainly organized to promote the airport among passengers. Shopping Festival 2012/ 2013 was launched on 01st December 2012 & concluded on 31st January 2013.

Etisalat and Nations Trust Bank came on board this year as main sponsors of the BIA Christmas Shopping Festival adding value and colour to the event.

The Grand draw of the Shopping Festival was held on 4th April 2013 and Prize giving ceremony was held on 24th April 2013 at BIA Arrival Terminal.

Mr Anura Wijeratne,Gampaha (SL Army- Engineering Unit) was selected as the Grand Prize Winner and he received the Brand New Panda Cross Car which is sponsored by Micro Car Company.

The winning coupon has been issued by World Duty Free Shop and Mr.Anura expressed his sincere appreciation for organizing the Shopping Festival and thereby providing him with the opportunity to win such a grand prize.
