AASL Conducted A Public Vehicle Auction

Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) Limited (AASL) successfully conducted a public auction to sale out 51 used vehicles including 15 Nos of Motor Bikes which were beyond useful economic life on 30th July 2020 at the premises of Bandaranaike International Airport, Katunayake. This Vehicle Auction sale was carried out after 20 years by the Finance Team on the instructions and guidance of Major General (Rtd.) G. A. Chandrasiri, Chairman, AASL and under the leadership of Mr.Lionel Dahanayake, Head of Finance. 

The auction was conducted by Shockman & Samarewickreme, one of the leading Auctioneer in Sri Lanka adhering to the rules and regulations of the Government. AASL was able to collect over Rs.50 Mn by selling 49 vehicles out of the 51 despite many challenges including strict restrictions due to Covid-19 pandemic. Although many people wanted to join the auction, AASL had to limit the participants to 350 while adhering to the health guidelines.The whole process was conducted in a transparent manner following the National Procurement Guidelines.
