Vietnam Airlines Commenced Direct Services Between Ho Chi Minh City and Colombo

Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) welcomed Vietnam Airlines with the commencement of three weekly direct flights between Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and Colombo, Sri Lanka further strengthening air connectivity between the two countries.

The inaugural flight was warmly welcomed at BIA with a ceremonial water cannon salute organized by Airport & Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited (AASL). The welcome ceremony was further enhanced by a vibrant traditional Kandyan dance performance organized by Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau.

The inauguration was marked by a special cake cutting ceremony, celebrating the launch of the new air connection between Vietnam and Sri Lanka. The event was attended by Her Excellency Trinh Thi Tam, Ambassador of Vietnam to Sri Lanka, officials from the Vietnamese Embassy in Sri Lanka, along with officials from Advantis Group, the GSA of Vietnam Airlines in Sri Lanka, the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL), and AASL.

Passengers arriving on the inaugural flight were greeted with warm Sri Lankan hospitality and presented with Ceylon Tea packs sponsored by the Sri Lanka Tea Board.
