Empowering Growth: Trainees Celebrate Certificate Awards Ceremony of SLAAA

The Sri Lanka Airport & Aviation Academy (SLAAA) successfully convened the Concurrent Certificate Awards Ceremony on 5th June 2025, recognizing the successful completion of skill & knowledge development programs.

Four commercial participants successfully completed the commercial course on “Foundation in Aviation Management” program, an intensive 360-hour training course conducted over four months from January to May 2025 ”facilitated by Airport Management Training Wing of SLAAA in collaboration with the Fire & Rescue Training Wing.

This program is structured to develop core competencies and industry-relevant expertise, essential for operational and managerial roles within the aviation sector.

Simultaneously, Airport Services Assistants and Agents from Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) and Jaffna International Airport (JIA) successfully completed in the “Basic Japanese Language Course”, facilitated by Airport Management Training Wing of SLAAA.

This program conducted from August 2024 to April 2025 and focused on developing language proficiency and cross-cultural communication skills to enhance service delivery for Japanese-speaking passengers at both airports.

The ceremony was honored by the presence of Mr. Krishantha Nimalaratne, Head of Civil Aviation Training, who delivered the keynote address. The Chief Airport Manager – CIAR, also attended to acknowledge the participants' achievements. Program Managers Mrs. Poojanie Arampola and Mr. Eranda Wickramathunga, along with proud family members and other distinguished officials, participated in the event.

This occasion highlights SLAAA’s commitment to professional development and capacity building within Sri Lanka’s growing aviation industry.
