Turkish Airlines Meets AASL to Explore Growth Opportunities

Mr. Fatih Bozkurt, Country Director of Turkish Airlines for Sri Lanka and the Maldives, along with a delegation representing Turkish Airlines, met with the Chairman of Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited (AASL) on 1st July 2025. The airline officials discussed collaborative efforts to expand connectivity to Sri Lanka and attract more international tourists to the country.

Turkish Airlines commenced direct flights to Sri Lanka in October 2023, following 10 years of operations via a leg that included a stopover in Malé. The airline launched direct flights from Istanbul, Turkey, to Colombo on 30th October 2023 with four weekly frequencies. 

Mr. Fatih Bozkurt, Country Director of Turkish Airlines for Sri Lanka and the Maldives, stated, “Currently, Turkish Airlines operates daily flights from Colombo to Istanbul with seven flights per week, and we expect to increase the frequencies in the near future.”
