Happy to welcome the first group of tourists from Shanghai on China Eastern Airlines after the relaxation of outbound travel.

China Eastern Airlines will operate six flights weekly from China.

The first tour group of Chinese from Shanghai, 180 passengers, arrived at Bandaranaike International Airport on MU 231, 10th March 2023.

China Eastern Airlines started its operations as an offline carrier since 2004 and appointed Dart Aviation as their G S A for both Passenger & Cargo.

China Eastern Airlines Inaugurated the first flight from Kunming / Colombo / Maldives route on 31st Aug 2010 with 3 flights per week. Then extended it’s operations from Shanghai -  Colombo  Route with 4 frequencies per week wef 21st September 2015.  The growing market demand between two countries China Eastern Airlines operated daily flights a week

China Eastern Airlines operated scheduled flights without any interruption between the two countries , and the only Chinese carrier operated to/from Sri Lanka during the most challenging 

Times in the country and the airline industry between 2019 – 2023 during global pandemic.

China Eastern Airlines was compelled to reduce flight frequencies from 7 flights per week to  two flight per week until  26th of March 2023 due to restrictions & quarantine regulations  during the global pandemic.

China Eastern Airlines will have each 3 flights from Kunming and Shanghai to attract more tourists to this country.

We are happy to see the growing Chinese tourist market after global pandemic and fully opening of China borders.

China Eastern Airlines will increase flight frequencies from two flights to six flights a week starting from summer 2023.
