Airport & Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) Limited (AASL) Conducts Aviation Education Programs

AASL successfully conducted an Aviation Education Program for the students of International Airline and Aviation College (IAAC) on 26th August 2020 at the newly opened public viewing area at BIA.

The objective of the program was to raise awareness of the students, who are following professional aviation courses, on the present situation of the aviation industry, airport operations, cargo operations, and career development in the aviation industry. The students got an opportunity to witness the latest development projects taking place at BIA and to study the airport operational environment during the COVID-19 global pandemic situation at BIA. The senior officials from AASL and Srilankan Airlines shared their valuable knowledge and experience with the students and educated them on the cargo operations, passenger facilitation & Sri Lankan airlines operations at BIA with COVID-19. In addition, the students were made aware of the future challenges in the aviation industry and future development projects at BIA. 

AASL organized this program under the guidance of Major General (Rtd.) G. A. Chandrasiri, Chairman-AASL. Mr. Rajeewasiri Sooriyaarachchi, Vice Chairman-AASL, senior officials of AASL and Sri Lankan Airlines were present at the occasion. As a major CSR initiative, AASL is planning to conduct aviation education and awareness building programs in the future too.
