The President of the Republic of Maldives H.E.Dr.Mohamed Waheed, arrived in Sri Lanka on 23rd August 2012 and was welcomed by the Hon.Minister of External Affairs Prof.G.L.Peiris, Hon.Minister of Civil Aviation Piyankara Jayaratne and government officials.

Mr.Kamal S. Ratwatte, Vice Chairman of Airport & Aviation Services (SL) Ltd., Executive Director Mr.Johanne Jayaratne were also present on the occasion. After his arrival at the airport, the President of Maldives signed the Golden Book at the VVIP lounge of BIA.
